I discovered one of my favorite artist who goes by the name of Propaganda a few years back. He along with his record label (Humble Beast Records) created a video you may have seen titled G.O.S.P.E.L. that introduced me to him. The reason I love listening to Prop is he writes challenging lyrical content that hits on subjects that most artists will never touch on. He also delivers good quality hip hop, which is a rare find these days in my opinion.

Propaganda also is one incredible spoken word artist. That brings me to the video below that I heard originally on his “Excellent” album as a bonus track. I believe this was delivered at a Catalyst event in Atlanta, GA. I wanted to share this video with you just in case you haven’t seen it/heard it yet. It is one that needs to stick with me way more often.

He told me a love story
Of a woman born before him
He said I new her before and at the moment of conception
Their was an eternal connection
And although I didn’t know it then I’d fight for her affection
It’s this war we been waging since day one of creation
And only when you lose her do you learn to appreciate her, like even
When Im with her, Im itching to get rid of her
And she only gives you one shot, blow it and she’s gone
And I took advantage of her
Thats why Im telling you this
Son, you can’t rusher or slow her down, you better keep here on her side
She will slip through your fingers
Like sand her name is Time
And she told me a secret
She said multitasking is a myth you ain’t doing anything good just everything awful
And she begged me to stop stretching her thin and stuffing her full, and stop being so concerned
With the old her and future her, but love her now
Her presence is Gods present, and you should be that, present
